In 2007 we completed a large set of modern art abstract stained and leaded glass windows for a client in St. Catherine. Full-size leaded glass sidelights for a front door, a bathroom oval window and 2 stained glass windows for bedrooms – all panels were developed in one modern geometric style with random artistic lines. The challenging task of this design was to overlay abstract irregular artistic lines over the regular pattern of existing grills of insulated units. The design was developed using clear textured architectural glasses with bevelled glass and crystal stained glass jewels as textured assents. Asymmetrical abstract thick lead lines are incorporated into a regular pattern of the windows grills

Modern double door entrance system with transom window for a double -height foyer of a large residence in Vaughan, Ontario. The idea of the stained glass design was to let the art lines to run through large glass areas freely with some interaction between lines and art glass.  This stained glass design was further development of the idea to explore expressive line in stained glass design not only as a connector between lines but also as an independent graphic element

Very thick fused glass elements are textured highlights for the panel that add dynamic stunning effects to glass artwork

Contemporary stained glass hangings were designed for a charming owner of a private residence in High Park – Bloor Village area in Toronto, who is in love and balance with nature. The client is a passionate gardener with a beautiful garden in the backyard of the house. The goal of the stained glass project was to block an ugly view from the side windows of the sunroom and keep open the view to a beautiful garden in the backyard. The stained and leaded glass panels were designed as decorative hangings to have the possibility to take them if the client moves to a different location. A few years later we packed the art glass panels for the client who moved to a new home on Vancouver Island, BC

Artistic Line Studio (now called Victoria Balva Glass Studio) caught my eye at the National Home Show. Victoria's work was unusual, creative and beautiful. Needing stained glass windows for my breakfast room, I asked for a consultation. Victoria came to my home to see where the new windows would be placed. She asked many questions to help her understand what I wanted from this project and offered several ideas. We met at her studio where she showed me the various types of glass available and helped me select colours and materials. She provided me with 3 design choices. All were terrific. A few weeks later the windows were installed and were beyond my expectations. Stunning works of art that bring me great joy every day. Victoria and her team are consummate professionals. Her pride in her work and attention to detail shows. The designs are all original and creative. Her choice of materials, exquisite. When I accidentally cracked one of the windows, it was repaired in a way that incorporated the repair into the design. As a client, I felt listened to and my ideas considered. Choose Victoria Balva Glass Studio and you will be looking at a beautiful functional piece of art for many years to come. Highly recommended!

Modern stained and leaded glass hangings add privacy and beautify a dining room space in Toronto home. Art glass hangings hide a less-than-spectacular view. The modern spiral wires chandelier is a centerpiece of the room and served as inspiration for contemporary stained glass window hangings.
