Barrel vaulted stained glass skylight

Classic design barrel-vaulted stained glass skylight above a double-height stairwell of a custom-built luxury house in Toronto.

Oval stained and leaded glass dome ceiling with crystal chandelier for an oval staircase delivers natural light in the most aesthetically pleasing style.  There were two decorative glass skylights developed for one large living space. The goal was to create slightly different in design and approach decorative glass ceilings to add interest and adventure to the clients’ experience. Large stained and leaded glass square skylight was installed above the double-height great room to bring natural light to space below. The clear ellipse stained and leaded glass skylight was designed to crown an intricate oval staircase

The interior design was developed by London (UK) and Toronto (Canada) based Timothy Mather Design. More images of this project can be found on Timothy Mather’s website.

Classically modern leaded glass window design for the bathroom and staircase window to add privacy and beauty to the space. The leaded glass design was developed to match a front entrance double door with transom window for a traditional house in King City. The leaded glass design was inspired by our rosette stained and leaded glass domes with a contemporary twist in design. For the same client, we created a modern leaded glass door set with transom window inserts

This is our second project with Artistic Line Studio. In this project, we wanted to replace dull builder doors and side windows in our house with a sophisticated and unique design. Artistic Line Studio owner listened to our wishes and then recommended a design which was much better than what we've imagined. She was able to align the design with the outside architecture of the house, internal style and proposed door finish. She explained why some of our ideas wouldn't work and we are very glad that we listed to her. She also made excellent recommendations for the door hardware to match the windows. Artistic Line Studio also had good co-ordination with the supplier who was manufacturing and installing the doors. This door supplier is a large 20+ yrs old company, and their people were very impressed with the windows. They said that they have not seen such a beautiful design before.

Beautiful plaster mouldings perfectly frame the decorative glass ceiling made of pastel coloured architectural art glass and bevelled glass pieces. "Political consultant Mildred Webber Holmes is admiring the skylight installed above her top-floor landing. “It gives the upstairs the look of a Tiffany lamp. I absolutely love it,” she says. It replaced “a muted, dim skylight that brought in nearly no light—horribly ugly yellowish plexiglass. We couldn’t see the sky.”
Six years after buying their home in the Wesley Heights neighborhood of Upper Northwest D.C., Holmes and her husband, Chris, tasked Anthony Wilder of Anthony Wilder Design/Build in Cabin John, with redesigning the skylight as part of a third-floor renovation. He’d be drawing new plans for a guest room, bath, and sitting area, and while he typically wouldn’t recommend skylights in historic homes, especially in the front of the house, he made a suggestion that the homeowners liked: an octagonal, leaded, pastel-tinged window. In 2007 we completed a large set of modern design stained and leaded glass windows for a client in St. Catherine. Full size leaded glass sidelights for a front door, a bathroom oval window and 2 stained glass windows for bedrooms – all panels were developed in one modern geometric style with random artistic lines. The challenging task of this design was to overlay abstract irregular artistic lines over the regular pattern of existing grills of insulated units. The design was developed using clear textured architectural glasses with bevelled glass and crystal stained glass jewels as textured assents. Asymmetrical abstract thick lead lines are incorporated into a regular pattern of the windows grills
